After a successful 18 months of “bringing competition to the waste industry”, Union Waste decided to become a stand-alone Company.

Effective 1st April 2021, Waste Services has been entirely separated from the demolition side of the business, and its name has been changed to “Kiwi Waste and Recycling Ltd”.

 Our new name reflects our intention to promote recycling and maximise the diversion of waste from landfill. Additionally, given the offshore ownership of the two biggest waste companies in the market, we want to emphasise the NZ ownership of our Transfer Station operations.
